John Butler

Chief Creative Officer, Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners

John is the chief creative officer and a founding partner of BSSP. While working at Chiat/Day NY, John met business partner Mike Shine. The pair moved west for positions at Goodby Silverstein and partners, where they met Greg Stern, and in 1993 opened Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners. The agency has won numerous awards for work over the years, including Converse, MINI, The San Francisco Jazz Festival and more.

John is a former One Club president who sits on the board of directors of the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco. He currently resides in California with his wife and two children.
