Young girls watch Kamala Harris take historic vice presidential oath

Girl Up, Refinery29 and Ogilvy captured the inauguration through the eyes of young girls in the spot, 'Today We Rise.'

Kamala Harris made history on Jan. 20 as the first woman — and the first Black or Asian person —  to become vice president of the United States. To celebrate the momentous occasion, non-profit Girl Up partnered with Refinery29 and Ogilvy to capture the reactions of girls across the U.S. The film captures the moment in 30 households, and the footage was compiled just hours after the swearing-in ceremony.
