LONDON - Sir Martin Sorrell, the chief executive of WPP, has said that he intends to increase his investment in Pakistan, despite the country's terror attacks.

Speaking to the Financial Times, he said that despite a fall in economic growth this year and growing Islamist insurgency, the business continued "to grow strongly" in the South Asian country.

"We plan to continue to grow there and develop our industry leading position in the country," he continued.

Other public and private companies, including Antofagasta, the Chilean mining company and Abraaj Capital, the Dubai-based private equity group, are also seeking opportunities in Pakistan.
