Vice Media hires Vogue ad director for new fashion group

Vice Media has hired Condé Nast's Lucy Delacherois-Day for the newly-created role of commercial director as the publisher brings together its brands and agencies into a specialist fashion and luxury group.

Delacherois-Day is joining the youth media company from Vogue, where she was advertising director following a decade-long career at Condé Nast, during which she handled the fashion category and managed Miss Vogue

In the newly-created role at Vice Media, she has been tasked with bolstering relationships across the fashion and luxury group, where recent clients include Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Chanel.

She reports to Tammy Smulders, who is joining Vice Media as president of the fashion group later this year from her Havas Luxhub, where is she global managing director.

Delacherois-Day will also lead commercial operations for titles including i-D, the style bible Vice Media acquired in 2012, and Garage, the art and design magazine it bought last year.

Vice Media is bringing together those fashion brands alongside its stable of production companies and agencies into one group specialising in products across the fashion, luxury and beauty sphere.

The publisher’s aim is to spread these products across digital, creative, data insights, communications and entertainment in an effort to challenge how fashion content is produced and distributed.

Vice staff are based in London, New York, Milan and Paris and the company has plans to expand further into the Middle East and Asia, including in India.

Katie White, managing director of i-D, said: "Lucy arrives with a wealth of knowledge from the premium fashion, luxury and beauty world and possesses the digital expertise and stellar skillset to help fulfil our ambitions to have lasting and significant impact in this market."
