VCCP has appointed Adrian Gans, a former strategic chief at Razorfish in London, as its first innovation director.

Gans, who will report to VCCP’s executive planning director, Michael Lee, will be responsible for improving the agency’s digital departments and integrated work.

He will work with clients directly on digital and experiential campaigns.

Gans, who has freelanced at VCCP since January but was taken on full time last week, joined the agency from Gansify, where he was a strategy consultant.

He was previously the executive planning director at FullSIX London from 2012 to 2014. Between 2006 and 2012, Gans was at Razorfish, where he rose to head of strategy and planning.

Gans said: "It’s a great feeling to join VCCP – I am in my element here. The ambition to be more digital, more innovative and more integrated is irrepressible, and the culture is grounded in honesty, agility and collaboration. Game on."

VCCP has also hired Agathe Marian as a senior planner.

Marian joins from TBWA\ Media Arts Lab, an agency dedicated to servicing Apple, where she was a strategist.

Lee said: "We’re delighted to have hired two brilliant strategists who are true digital natives and think as much in terms of service experience and tech-driven products as they do traditional advertising ideas."
