UKTV, which owns Gold and Dave, has achieved a record 10% share of commercial impacts for the second quarter of the year.

According to the broadcaster’s latest results, its consolidated Soci also reached an "all-time high" for the first half of the year at 9.74%.

In the first six months of the year UKTV also grew ad impacts by 7.6% year on year.

In another first, audience share, including non-commercial TV, was up 7.6% compared with 5.58% during the first half of last year.

UKTV recorded a peak of 7.64% for its overnight daily share on Easter Sunday. The broadcaster reported its lead ahead of Channel 5 and Sky in April.

Darren Childs, chief executive at UKTV, said: "Our investment in bold, original programmes for our vibrant channel brands continues to chime with audiences – from Dynamo: Live to The Comic Strip Presents… to the David Haye fights and Taskmaster – the year so far has been outstanding, and the best is yet to come.

"Our share of commercial impacts continues to grow so we can better serve British viewers and advertisers in this competitive market."
