Five UK companies have made the shortlist for the Cannes Product Design Lion - the most of any country.

The UK made up six of the shortlist of 34 entries, with Google Creative Lab London listed under both Innovation and Integration of technology in daily life for its work on Jacquard Wearable Fabric.

Two UK agencies are nominated under brand communication: CHI & Partners, for its work on the Back to the Future-esque hoverboard from Lexus, "Slide"; and Native Design, for its Design DNA scheme for Coloplast.

The other two UK shortlisted companies are Primo Toys, for its wooden robot Cubetto, which teaches kids to code, and Prism, for its work on the Aston Martin DB10 – the car produced for Bond flick Spectre.

German companies also racked up six nominations, with two each for J Walter Thompson’s Frankfurt agency, and Munich’s Serviceplan. They were followed by the USA and Brazil, with four apiece.

Grey Group recorded seven nominations across four regional groups: three for Grey Bangladesh, two for Grey Brazil, and one each for Grey New York and Grey Mexico.
