Twitter tests Promoted Tweet carousel format

Twitter is piloting a new ad format in the US giving brands the chance to combine their own and users' tweets in a carousel.

Dubbed the Promoted Tweet Carousel, it allows brands to curate multiple tweets within a single, swipeable ad unit that can include videos, images or text, according to AdAge.

However, brands will need explicit permission from users to feature their tweets in an ad.

Companies including Volvo and Disney have already started using the format.
