Fairness USA's TV ad will run on Fox News in primetime during the Republican National Convention next week
An LGBT rights group will run an ad on Fox News during next week’s Republican National Convention. The 60-second spot for Fairness USA by the Movement Advancement Project, an LGBT-focused research group, highlights the challenges facing transgender people when they try to use public restrooms with a re-creation featuring Alaina Kupec, a transgender woman from North Carolina. That state’s HB2 "bathroom bill," which requires patrons to use the restroom associated with the gender on their birth certificate, sparked a heated debate about transgender rights. The ad will run nationally during primetime coverage of the convention. A week later, MSNBC will run the ad during the Democratic National Convention.
