Making us all feel bad for ignoring Father's Day
Quick question: What did you do last Father's Day? Can't remember? Well neither can anyone interviewed in this new Web video for Toyota.
The automarker and Saatchi LA take to the streets in "Father's Day Redo," asking people what they got Dad last year, or what they did for him, pointing out along the way that Americans typically spend $7.4 billion less on Father's Day than they do on Mother's Day. The result is a lot of guilt, followed by heartwarming calls to Dad, just to say thanks.
One of the people featured is a California man who hasn't been with his dad for Father's Day since he was 12. The film ends with him flying to Wyoming to celebrate his dad— the only time a Toyota product is shown.
Toyota's Super Bowl ad also featured father and child relationship, showing the moments shared with a Camry.
