Throw blossoms, not bombs, says Colombian anti-war ad

Local flower growers mark armistice with new campaign by Bogota's Anthropologic

Last week, the Colombian government signed a historic peace agreement with leftist rebels, ending a conflict that killed more than 220,000 people and displaced more than 5 million over the last five decades. To celebrate the (hopefully) lasting peace, the Colombian Association of Flower Exporters and Bogota-based agency Anthropologic turned a brutal scene of violence into a clarion call for harmony and beauty. Production company Covisual used more than 25,000 flowers to shoot the 2-minute spot. The ad for the "Colombia, Land of Flowers" campaign is now running in paid placements on Facebook.
