Centric, Over and Instagram Stories are three very different tools to help brands amplify their event content.

What is it?

New social video app that grabs video from Twitter, YouTube and Periscope streams and sorts them by location to show what’s happening around you.

The ‘Tinder of social video’, as Centric bills itself, is a video discovery and sharing platform that allows users to search for videos that are being shared on Twitter, YouTube and Periscope within their immediate geographic location (up to a 22-mile radius). Expect more video platforms to be added in the future.

Instagram Stories

What is it?

Instagram’s new Snapchat-like function launched in August to allow users to post photos and 10-second videos in a slideshow format that disappears after 24 hours.

There’s a lot of buzz around live video content at the moment, particularly among brands who know that timely content is a great way to engage consumers. Its launch appears to be good news for marketers as Instagram has more users than Snapchat and it’s much easier for users to follow and 'like' brand content on Instagram. The videos also sit at the top of Instagram’s feed in a prime location, which could also be beneficial for brands. Topshop provided a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of one of its recent fashion events and, on the day Stories launched, Nike was one of the first brands to post a video, receiving more than 800,000 views, compared to 66,000 on Snapchat, according to Nike and its social media agency Laundry Service.

What is it?

Over is a free visual content editing tool that allows you to add text and artwork to flat images to make them more interesting.

Tell me more...

We all know that visuals help to catch your audience’s attention on social media, but you’ll need different and intriguing formats to keep their focus, which is where this 'essential app for creativity’ comes in. You can quickly and easily add clip art images to photos, choose from a number of fonts to add text and there's also masking and blending tools to make it all look pretty.
