Three has launched a new festive campaign entitled Merry Birthday, which aims to celebrate Brits whose birthdays fall in the Christmas period.

The telecoms brand is targeting people with December birthdays on Facebook and asking their friends, family or anyone else they know to say 'Merry Birthday', to ensure they’re not overlooked at Christmas time.

Consumers also have a chance to nominate their friends with December birthdays to win one of four Best Birthday Ever prizes - the choice of £2,000-worth of Currys vouchers, £2,000 Flight Centre vouchers or £2,000 Love2Shop vouchers.

The network also has a number of upcoming surprises planned for anyone born in December via a ‘surprise and delight’ campaign. It has also teamed up with Great British Bake Off winner and cake expert Edd Kimber to create the ‘Merry Birthday Pudding’ - a twist on the Christmas classic for those with a December birthday.

Kimber has created a how-to cookery video for the company that shows consumers how to make his creation.

Lianne Norry, director of brand and comms at Three Mobile, said: "At Three we’re always looking for ways to make it right for people and our customers. We know that those born around the festive period often feel like their birthday’s are lost to Christmas so this year we're changing that and putting December birthday’s back on the map by celebrating everyone in the UK who has a merry birthday in our new festive campaign."
