"The World's Biggest Asshole" redeems himself in death as an organ donor

The Martin Agency enlists Thomas Jane, Will Arnett and Coldplay for Donate Life America

Even the worst human being in life can turn hero in death when they become an organ donor. That’s the idea behind a new campaign from The Martin Agency for Donate Life America. A nearly three-minute film introduces Coleman Sweeney, a man famous in his small town for "ignoring the rules of acceptable society." Played by actor Thomas Jane, he’s the kind of guy who pees in a bottle while driving and throws it out the window, dumps out someone else’s laundry to snag a dryer (and their panties), shoots a paint gun at a neighbor’s dog, and even steals candy from children. A voiceover from William Arnett reveals that after suddenly dying from an aneurism, his neighbors learn he actually did have a heart when they find out he was an organ donor. The video, which features a stark arrangement of Coldplay’s "Fix You," ends with the stories of all the people who benefitted from his final, and perhaps only, act of generosity.
