Transport for London (TfL) has partnered with MySingleFriend.com for a free Valentine's matchmaking event that includes speed-dating on Emirates Air Line cable cars.

The MySingleFriend.com and TfL event will take place on 12 February and will see daters travel from the London Eye Pier to North Greenwich on board MBNA Thames Clippers, with entertainment from comedian Matt Reed.

After disembarking at North Greenwich, singles and their 'wingmen' will take to the skies in cable cars, spending the 20-minute ride speed-dating.

Guests will then be invited to All Bar One at The O2 to enjoy discounted drinks.

Complementary MBNA Thames Clippers tickets will be given to those guests who are unable to make it to All Bar One so they can make their way home after the event.

Sarah Beeny, TV personality and founder of MySingleFriend.com, said: "We wanted to offer a completely unique dating event that people would never forget. What could set the scene for romance more than a boat ride through the city before taking to the skies and admiring the view below?

"Experiencing something completely different makes people more open to new possibilities, so it’s the perfect environment for meeting people. Plus with a wingman in tow, it makes it even more fun."

Earlier this month, TfL announced a sponsorship deal with Not On The High Street.
