Starbucks is the latest brand to jump on-board the Valentine's Day bandwagon, with the coffee chain serving up free trials of Match.com alongside its lattes and espressos.

Customers will be offered the chance to register with Match.com for free, using the store’s free Wi-Fi.

Starbucks will also celebrate Valentine’s Day by offering customers a buy one, get one free offer on its triple hot chocolate drink on February 13 and 14.

Ian Cranna, vice president of marketing and category at Starbucks EMEA, said: "It’s a natural fit – Match.com are the experts at bringing people together, and for more than 40 years, Starbucks has been a place where people connect over a great cup of coffee. We’ve seen first dates, proposals, weddings, birthdays and reunions – and now, we’ll be able to bring even more people together."

Its match-making intentions comes after Starbucks revealed last month that its customers would be able charge their smartphones wirelessly across a number of its London stores, as part of a flurry of tech innovations it's set to introduce this year. Customers can recharge their devices for free.
