Spotify takes Atreyu for one last flight in new TV campaign

Wieden+Kennedy New York lovingly reconstructs an 80s icon

In its first television campaign since 2013, music streaming service Spotify is going after ‘80s kids, now in their 30s and 40s. Wieden+ Kennedy New York recreated the famous luck dragon riding scene from the 1984 film "The NeverEnding Story." To lend authenticity to the shoot, they enlisted Noah Hathaway, the actor who originally portrayed the warrior child Atreyu, as well as Alan Oppenheimer, the original voice of the furry Falkor. The title song is still streamed daily, one of several odd facts Wieden+Kennedy dug up and feature in the three spots that comprise the campaign.
