Spike Lee directs Bernie Sanders film to rally minority vote

Rosario Dawson, Dr. Cornel West, Susan Sarandon and Eric Garner's daughter offer emotional appeals in time for NYC primary

Senator Bernie Sanders has proven a durable thorn in the side of frontrunner Hillary Clinton throughout primary season, despite his well-established lack of support among minority voters, particularly blacks. As voters go to the polls in New York, Spike Lee — through Brooklyn agency Spike DDB — has released a 5-minute film seeking to rally non-whites to his side. Both the long-form film and a 30-second spot (which is running  on TV) featuring a litany of Sanders supporters, mostly minorities, making the case for Sanders as the true champion of racial equality in America.
