SCEE: long-serving PlayStation marketer to step down

Darren Carter, a long-serving marketer at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE), is to stand down after 18 years at the company.

Carter held the position of vice president of marketing relationship management for six years at SCEE. He oversaw marketing for Sony PlayStation, and was previously vice president for consumer brand marketing. He has held a number of other marketing roles at Sony over the years.

It is not clear whether Carter, a career marketer with previous experience at Shell and Eidos, has a job to go to. He is set to step down in April next year.

A Sony spokesman said: "Darren has been an important and integral part of the marketing team within SCEE, both within the UK and central teams, for over 18 years.

"His involvement in key milestones in the company’s development and growth has been significant and appreciated."

Sony has yet to announce Carter's replacement.
