Škoda UK has appointed longstanding VW Group marketer Kirsten Stagg as its new head of marketing.

Starting on 17 October, Stagg takes over from Ashley Andrew, who only joined Škoda in January, but left last month to become UK managing director at FCA Fiat Chrysler.

Reporting directly to Duncan Movassaghi, director of Škoda UK, Stagg will have responsibility for product marketing and all brand and model communications. Her remit covers media planning and buying, advertising, digital, retailer support, CRM, events and sponsorship, Škoda said.

Stagg has been with VW Group since joining as a graduate in 1998. She held marketing and comms roles at Škoda, Audi and Volkswagen, before becoming head of marketing at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in 2014. Her replacement in this role will be announced in due course.

While at Volkswagen Passenger Cars, she orchestrated campaigns including #woofwagen, which advertised the brand’s range with a different dog for every model.

Movassaghi said: "Kirsten joins the brand at an exciting time as we prepare for the arrival of our incredible Kodiaq SUV. I have no doubt her exceptional experience will help drive our brand forwards."
