Secret Cinema announces nightclub plans

Cinematic events company Secret Cinema has announced plans to expand into the nightclub sector, launching the new division on 14 May.

The company stated it will bring its immersive format to nightlife scenes, aiming to transform "unusual and eccentric" buildings into worlds inspired by cinema, music, fashion and literature.

The first Secret Nightclub will take place on 14 May. It will be connected to the upcoming Secret Cinema Presents Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back experience, which takes place from 4 June to 27 September.

Only ticket-holders to the immersive film event will be given access to the nightclub. They will be given mysterious instructions such as dress code and props guidelines, while the location will be discoverable only through a secret telephone line.

A code will lead each caller to the Secret Nightclub. Visitors to the venue are promised a space filled with characters, secrets, live music performances and sets from special secret DJs.

Monday saw Secret Cinema gather together 3,000 ticketholders for a Star Wars Day event at Alexandra Palace.
