Ticket holders for tonight's screening of Secret Cinema Presents Back to the Future are still waiting to hear whether the event will run (25 July).

Despite being promised a statement from the company at 11am this morning, no news has been issued so far. Ticket holders are anxious to know whether the screening will go ahead, following the unexpected cancellations of both the preview and opening night.

The only news has been a brief statement from the company on its social media outlets, which reads: "To all our audience, we have been working urgently through the night to resolve the issues on site.

"We will have a detailed statement for you very soon. Thank you for your patience."

Although photos of an incomplete site have surfaced on the internet, the company has failed to explain the reasons for the cancellations. Newham Council, the location of the ‘secret’ Olympic Village venue, declined to comment when Event enquired.

Many Twitter users are speculating that reports of an unexploded WWII bomb found in Hackney Wick may be the cause of the event’s delay.
