Confex could be moving from UBM to Mash Media

Mash Media could be acquiring International Confex, according to the latest reports.

The industry show, which this year celebrated its 30th anniversary at London's Excel, is currently operated by UBM Live.

If the move goes ahead, Confex will join Mash Media's existing portfolio of industry events including the Event Production Show.

Both UBM and Mash Media declined to comment to Event on the reports of a potential acquisition.

This week, David Levin announced he would be stepping down as chief executive of UBM by July 2014. He has been in the position for eight years.

Next year's Confex exhibition is scheduled to take place between 11 and 13 March 2014 at Excel.
