Emotional ad by Wieden + Kennedy Portland tells story of the pro gold champions' relationship

Everyone has someone they look up to, and for four-time major champion Rory McIlory that person is Tiger Woods. A short film called "Ripple" by Wieden + Kennedy Portland for Nike captures the Northern Irish golfer's admiration for Woods.

A profile of McIlroy in the New York Times last week said the world champion golfer wrote a letter to Woods saying, "I’m coming to get you. This is the beginning. Watch this space." The film echoes the same enthusiasm.

It begins with a young McIlroy watching his hero and admiring his work ethic. He put posters of the PGA pro in his childhood bedroom. Then a few years later McIlroy is on the green at Augusta competing with his hero.

The film concludes with Woods and McIlroy walking down the fairway. One and two-minute versions will air on ESPN and The Golf Channel.
