Renault, Capri-Sun and Alpen named as new sponsors of The Color Run

IMG's five-kilometre sporting event, The Color Run has added Renault, Capri-Sun and Alpen to its roster of partners for 2016.

As the event's official automotive partner, Renault will bring a fleet of its Twingo superminis to the events, meanwhile Capri-Sun is to offer runners refreshments after each race, as part of its 'Squeeze the Day' campaign. Cereal brand Alpen is supplying participants with oat-based granolas from its new granola range. 

The Color Run will tour five UK cities this summer, beginning in London on 12 June. It will then travel to Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and finally Brighton on 17 September.

Inspired by the Holi festival in India, The Color Run sees coloured powders thrown over participants as they complete the course in white t-shirts.

James Boyer, marketing director at Renault, said: "We will have a very special Renault Twingo present at each race, encouraging participants to enjoy themselves on their way through the 5K course. We also look forward to bringing a number of other Twingos along to each race to entertain the crowds and runners."

Alex Murphy, senior brand manager at Alpen, added: "Over 80% of runners will be doing their first ever 5km and are choosing this iconic event because it’s a really fun way to get healthier and become more active."

Wrigleys confectionary brand Skittles was named as the title sponsor for the 2016 event series in January. Other sponsors include charity partner NSPCC and media partners Capital FM and Metro. Previously, the likes of Dulux and Capital had been the headline brands.
