Immersive installation celebrating honey

Relais & Châteaux, a collection of over 540 hotels and restaurants, is partnering with Bompas & Parr for an immersive tasting and art installation in Soho to celebrate the joy of bees and to showcase some of the rarest honeys in the world.

The Joy of Bees exhibition wil take place in a four-storey town house on Greek Street in Soho over two days, from 7-8 October. The fused gastronomic tasting and art installation will be the world’s most extensive exhibition dedicated to some of the rarest honeys in the world, sourced from eight Relais & Châteaux properties.

The experience, curated by Bompas & Parr, will afford guests the opportunity to celebrate the humble honey bee and savour these exotic honeys collected from hotels in Italy, Japan and New Zealand. These honeys are produced in extremely limited quantities, which will be revealed to the public over the course of choreographed tasting experiences.
The immersive tastings will be conducted by award-winning honey experts from Bermondsey Street Bees, who will be directly connecting the terroirs of Relais & Châteaux with the tasting notes of each respective honey.
On arrival, visitors can tour the first floor Honey Gallery exhibition and enjoy a drink at the Honey Bar, with a mocktail created especially for the event by the mixologist at Cliff House Hotel in Ireland. Using the honey grown at the Relais & Châteaux property, known for its local and sustainable produce, the mocktail will be an infusion of flavours which complement and champion the main ingredient.
The next stop is the fragrant indoor Honey Garden adorned with bee-friendly acacia, lavender and clover, for a heady "Sensory Reset". Visitors can sit atop a tree stump to contemplate the dappled light and scented "sunlight" streaming through. The Salon of Honey, a honeycomb haven, will showcase honey tastings under the guidance of a honey sommelier.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to The British Beekeepers Association.

Later this month, Bompas & Parr will unveil the world's first supernatural voice installation in London, as part of the eclectic annual arts festival Merge Bankside. The food architects also worked with Harrods this year on a jelly-inspired parlour
