Real honey comes from real bees, on display, in Cheerios ad

Saatchi & Saatchi New York shows how the living billboard was born

Yes, Saatchi & Saatchi New York created this spot for Cheerios, but the real stars are the 100,000 honeybees who made the 25 gallons of honey it took to "paint" a living billboard in Florida. Back in November, the installation went up in St. Cloud, a town of 40,000 outside Orlando, and now the agency has captured the experience in a three-minute mini-film. Shots of white smoke and golden liquor pouring profusely feature heavily, and the camera work makes deft use of macro lenses to keep up with the miniscule action. Poignant thought for the day: Every bee on camera in this ad is now dead, but their accomplishments will live on.
