RB calls global contest for Nurofen business

Nurofen: Club Havas account

RB is reviewing the global advertising account for the ibuprofen brand Nurofen, putting the incumbent, Club Havas, on alert.

Euro RSCG – now known as Havas Worldwide, which is part of Club Havas – lost the business to Mother in 2009 but reclaimed it at the end of 2010. Euro RSCG picked up the consolidated £800 million RB account in July 2006.

In May last year, RB moved three of its so-called "powerbrands" – Air Wick, Clearasil and Finish – from Havas Worldwide to Droga5 New York and Wieden & Kennedy after a competitive pitch.

ZenithOptimedia retained RB’s £80 million media planning and buying account in December 2013 after a pitch. The FMCG giant also added Interpublic and Dentsu to its roster.

RB declined to comment.
