PepsiCo brand, Quaker Oats visited Kings Ride Supermarket in High Wycombe on Tuesday (15 December), to create a winter-themed space for shoppers to enjoy.

Faux snow was laid on the ground outside of the store; meanwhile snowy trees and a deer were placed at the entry. Quaker Oats products were also scattered around the space.

Inside, the Quaker Oat So Simple pots and sachets in original and golden syrup flavours were stacked up in shapes such as Christmas trees, enhancing the consumer experience.

Samples of the brand’s porridge products were handed out to locals, and hundreds of people are said to have visited to store to take part in the experience.

The High Wycombe store was chosen following a campaign that saw Quaker Oats provide convenience store retailers with the opportunity to win a store makeover.

It was believed the store transformation would help to attract local shoppers and maximise retailers’ hot breakfast sales over the cooler months.

Agency Cirkle was behind the store transformation, and is handling the PR.

Pardip Kumar, owner, Kings Ride Supermarket said: "It’s been an amazing day and it’s great to do something which attracts so much excitement within our local community.

"The store transformation has been absolutely incredible – you have put a smile on all of my customers’ faces, and mine! It was great to provide my customers with a wholesome and delicious breakfast thanks to Quaker, thank you to PepsiCo for the experience."

Matt Goddard, field sales director at PepsiCo added: "A key part of our business is supporting local retailers with exciting in-store activity, which helps ensure they are rewarded for the day-to-day hard work that they put in.

"This activity not only accelerates the awareness of the popular Quaker ’on the go’ formats, but also helps retailers give something back to their local communities. We are thrilled that there was such a high turn-out of shoppers that came along."

Quaker Oats worked with Carol Vorderman to surprise students at a school in Peckham in January, by delivering a morning maths lesson.
