Publicis NY's organ donation PSA is a viral tearjerker

For its first spot in 20 years, the United Network for Organ Sharing aims for the heart

A heart wrenching viral film about organ donation from Publicis New York has racked up nearly 9 million Facebook views this month. A middle-aged man dyes his hair and goes backpacking as part of an apparent mid-life crisis before the real reason for his adventures is revealed. The PSA for the United Network for Organ Sharing is the organization’s first in 20 years. The 60-second spot is written and directed by Cannes Grand Prix winner Damien Toogood, who also handled the cinematography. It features a somber remix of Metric’s 2008 hit single "Help I’m Alive."
