Last year Ireson celebrated 20 years at Ford, where major changes are afoot. The group reviewed its global advertising account out of WPP last autumn and it will be interesting to see how Ireson and his team’s relationship with Omnicom’s BBDO – which was appointed in October, with Wieden & Kennedy handling special projects – will re-energise Ford’s marketing output. Meanwhile, the car manufacturer’s workforce is being cut by 7,000. The marketing department will be affected but the company has insisted that budgets will remain sacrosanct.
