Vodafone held pitches with UK agencies last week as part of its global media review. It called the contest after bringing its biddable media in-house. Wavemaker has held the account since 2014 and is repitching against Carat and Omnicom Media Group.

Anomaly will not be repitching for the LNER ad account. It continues to work with Virgin Trains West Coast. Camilla Harrisson, chief executive and partner at Anomaly, said: "Following an influx of assignments from existing and new clients, we’ve decided not to take part in the LNER pitch process, but we wish them continued success in their next chapter."   

LNER is currently conducting chemistry meetings for its advertising, digital and CRM business, after calling a review in March, in a process supported by Creativebrief. TMW Unlimited is repitching for the CRM and digital account. Anomaly won the combined Virgin Trains account in January 2017. LNER, a government-owned body, took over the franchise from Virgin Trains last year.

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme is inviting agencies to submit tenders for its media planning and buying review. Incumbent UM has worked on the business since 2012 and is repitching.


Marcus by Goldman Sachs, the retail savings bank that launched last year, is searching for a creative agency. It is in the process of drawing up a shortlist with the help of AAR. Its media buying is handled by iProspect, which is not affected by the review.


Pukka Pies has awarded its creative, PR and shopper marketing accounts to Walker, Richmond & Towers and Haygarth respectively after a competitive pitch run through Creativebrief.

Private hearing healthcare company Hidden Hearing has appointed The Specialist Works to its £6m media account after a competitive pitch. The agency replaces Carat Manchester.

The Specialist Works has also won the media account for online will-writing service Farewill. There was no incumbent.

Poundshop.com has picked Birmingham-based HDY Agency as its lead creative and marketing partner after a non-competitive pitch. There was no incumbent.

Forever Beta has been appointed by Chase Distillery as global lead strategy and creative agency. The shop won the business at the chemistry stage. Chase did not previously work with an ad agency.

Journey Further has been awarded the paid search account for Wexas Travel after a non-competitive pitch. The account includes the Wexas Travel, The Luxury Holiday Company, The Luxury Cruise Company and Best Served Scandinavia brands. There was no incumbent.
