Grey London has "reluctantly withdrawn" from the Alzheimer's Society integrated pitch because of a commitment to another new-business opportunity.

The charity is meeting Brothers and Sisters, Creature, McCann London and Red Brick Road this week. Fallon, the advertising incumbent, declined to repitch. Lida, the digital and direct incumbent, dropped out after initial meetings. 

Edrington, owner of The Famous Grouse, is reviewing its global media. The successful agency will work on media planning and buying for the whisky brand’s three key markets: the UK, Spain and the Dominican Republic. Briefing meetings with agencies were due to take place in Scotland this week. Last year, Edrington ended its joint venture with Beam Suntory, which distributed The Famous Grouse and other brands. Maxxium, the joint sales arm, appointed ZenithOptimedia to the media task in 2013.

The review of Axa Investment Managers’ global advertising account, being run through Oystercatchers, has progressed past chemistry meetings and on to the pitches. Havas is pitching against a financial services marketing specialist. FCB Inferno is understood to have pulled out of the process.

A consortium of construction companies is seeking an ad agency to run a recruitment campaign that highlights the diverse roles available in construction. The group has held chemistry meetings with agencies and the next stage will take place in July.
