This won’t be news to any of the shops involved, as the brand held an all-agency briefing last Friday. AAR is running the pitch. Lida, the incumbent on the digital and direct account, dropped out of the process after chemistry meetings. Alzheimer’s Society also met with J Walter Thompson London and Publicis London but did not put them through. Fallon did not repitch.
Savills has appointed The Bio Agency to work on its digital strategy and platform for its estate agency arm as it aims to target mid-market buyers. The agency beat Create, MullenLowe Profero and Wunderman in pitches.
Carat, Manning Gottlieb OMD and MEC, the incumbent, have two more weeks before they are put out of their misery by Transport for London. It has been a long old process. TfL plumped for VCCP for its creative account two weeks ago before moving on to finalise the media appointment. Once that’s out of the way, AAR will be able to kick off the creative pitch for Greater London Authority services such as the Metropolitan Police.
The BBC has appointed Somethin’ Else to develop social media content for Radio 1, 1xtra, Radio 2 and 6 Music. The radio brands want to extend their reach on social media and boost audience engagement.
Standard Life Investments has appointed WCRS to promote its sponsorship of British & Irish Lions’ 2017 tour of New Zealand. The company is the principal partner and jersey sponsor of the Lions. WCRS will develop creative work to run across all channels and in key financial centres including London, Hong Kong and the US. The agency won the account after a pitch.
At least one agency has pulled out of the government pitch to promote the new £1 coin, which goes into circulation in 2017, because the fee was too small. There’s a joke in there somewhere.
