Children's charity Variety marked its 65th anniversary on Monday (29 September) with a drinks reception at The View from the Shard and a magic-themed dinner at Vinopolis, London.

Around 300 guests were treated to performances from TV magician Dynamo and live music from the Diamond Boys at the sky-high Shard, where they enjoyed a Lanson Champagne reception and food from The London Kitchen.

The party was then led through Borough Market to Vinopolis for a three-course dinner in the Great Halls, which were lit in a magical style by in-house technical company Metro Broadcast.

Further music was provided by Jonathan Carr, Laura Wright and Moni Tivony, before Dynamo performed his magic once again. The evening ended with addresses from Irvine Sellar, the developer of The Shard, and Harold Tillman, the founder and chairman of Patrons of Variety.
