The Red Bull Music Academy hosted an event reminiscent of 1990s underground raves on Saturday (11 April).

Fans of the brand were invited to tweet the hashtag #R1NG2RAVE from Tuesday last week. Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) then drip-fed them further information over the week, with the full venue address and the line-up the last to be released.

Shapes in Hackney Wick, London, hosted the event, and opened its doors until full capacity was reached once the full set of information had been released. The details were also released at 9pm on a RBMA FM pirate radio station, High Frequencies, which was broadcast from the Arcelor Mittal Orbit Tower on Saturday.

The free event was designed to pay homage to the bygone era of illegal dial-a-raves. Acts on the line-up included Moxie, Shy FC with MC Stamina and Fabio & Grooverider with MC Lowqui.
