Gillette's 'RZR MKR' pop-up is a collaboration with 3D printing cafe MakersCafe and runs from 9-14 August at Unit 26 at Boxpark in Shoreditch, London.
Visitors to the cafe can design and print their own razor handles, which will then be shipped to them for £10.
Prior to the pop-up opeing, Gillette ran a UK-wide compeition to encourage people to design razor handles and the winning designs are on display at the shop.
The shop window displays 3D printers to attract people into the pop-up and one wall of the space displays a timeline that showcases Gillette razors from 1901 to the present day.
Alex Friend, a senior scientist in Gillette’s R&D department at Procter & Gamble, told Event: "This is a small, local and one-off experiment for Gillette. We’ve been using 3D printing for years for prototyping, but now as 3D printers become more affordable, they are becoming more accessible to people. There is a real buzz around them and we wanted to use them to get people interested and excited. We think our handles are the best you can get but some people want something different, something unique to them. We will gauge reactions in the shop and on social media as part of our research and development plans for the future.
"I hope people leave the shop thinking that Gillette is a fun and creative brand. Lots of people haven’t seen 3D printers in real life and we want them to be wowed by them and to think Gillette is ahead of the curve."
