Pick of the week: This Oasis ad offers refreshment in a desert of social justice humbug

Finally, an ad that exposes cause-related marketing as a shibboleth that has been deployed with cynical regularity by lazy advertisers and agencies.

Oasis has perfectly subverted the genre and The Corner has actually managed to expose all its predecessors – most notably rival soft drink brand Pepsi with its pathetic attempt at demonstrating a commitment to "social justice" – guilty of using this tactic as the charlatans they are. It’s also very funny. Bravo Oasis, and even more so to The Corner if it means that lazier agencies will have to find a new bandwagon upon which to attempt to hitch themselves.

The ad was created by Matthew Lancod and Robert Amstell and directed by Jamie Delaney through Black Dog Films.

Title: Togetherness
