I’m not sure if it’s because I was (getting) all giddy and drunk on the performance of Gareth Southgate’s team when I saw this ad during the England vs Colombia game, but something here really hit the spot.
Sure, it may have an endline that sounds like an Arctic Monkeys album ("What we make, makes us who we are"), but I’m a sucker for a rousing soundtrack, particularly during moments of high emotion. And who else didn’t shed a tear at the tales of the support Morrisons gives to the likes of our home-grown talent – the beleaguered fishermen of Grimsby and the flower arrangers of Derbyshire.
Morrisons’ advertising has really moved up a few levels from the days of Ant (remember him) & Dec. Much like England, I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’s going to go all the way.
