Orbitz wants LGBTQ+ travelers to start thinking about post-pandemic vacations — and feel safe to be themselves while traveling. The spot "Travel As You Are" follows a diverse cast of LGBTQ+ couples, including influencers Ahmad Kanu and Rahquise Bowen, as they jet off on dream getaways. The group blissfully rides bikes, swim in a pool and go out dancing, all while freely showing PDA. The spot was shot by LGBTQ+ photographer and director Cass Bird and set to a cover of Lesley Gore’s "You Don’t Own Me," performed by serpentwithfeet, the first Black male LGBTQ+ artist to re-record the classic song.
"The vision was a world where everyone is welcomed, no matter who they are or who they love," Carey Malloy, director of brand marketing at Orbitz, told Campaign US. "We wanted to show real members of the LGBTQ community traveling freely and being exactly who they are."
