One-word answers with Hearst UK's James Wildman

James Wildman, the president and chief executive of Hearst UK, is more buoyant than usual after the consumer publisher picked up five PPA Awards.

Wildman, who is known for his Tiggerish enthusiasm and love of punk band The Damned, has embraced magazines since joining Hearst in April 2017.

The former managing director of Yahoo and chief revenue officer of Trinity Mirror has overseen Hearst’s move to a new London headquaters in LSQ on Leicester Square and become chairman of trade body Magnetic.

He capped his first year with a good haul at the PPA Awards last week. Cosmopolitan’s Farrah Storr won Editor of the Year, Roisin Dervish-O’Kane of Women's Health picked up Writer of the Year, Elle’s Tom Meredith was named designer of the Year, Country Living was Specialist Magazine of the Year and Women’s Health was crowned Consumer Magazine of the Year.
