Omnicom's M2M International has parted company with global managing director Peter Thomson, who founded the specialist media agency eight years ago.

Media Week understands that Thomson officially left the agency earlier this month although M2M has yet to confirm his departure.

He has spent much of the last two years based in New York and it is not known what his next business venture will be.

Thomson established M2M in 2002 with a vision to "create an agency for clients of integrity who recognise the business benefits of relationships rooted in trust and serviced by motivated people who care more".

Under the banner ‘Your Business, Our Passion’, he has helped build an agency that prides itself on maintaining the energy of a start-up with the power and resource of parent Omnicom Media Group.

The agency specialises in fashion, beauty and luxury sectors and clients include Estee Lauder, Hewlett Packard and LoveFilm.

Thomson took the agency global in 2008, propelled after winning Estee Lauder’s international business, and M2M now boasts offices in 21 markets.

Prior to establishing M2M, Thomson was managing director of CDP Media. During his career he has also worked at Leagas Delaney and Young and Rubicam.
