Comedian's second outing as Colonel Sanders recalls vintage commercial
In the 1960s, KFC (then Kentucky Fried Chicken) debuted an ad with Colonel Sanders under interrogation. It's so surreal it seemed as though "Twilight Zone" host Rod Serling would enter at any moment.
In a follow-up 40 years later by Wieden + Kennedy, Norm Macdonald reprises his role as the newly minted Sanders for Yum! Brands.
While the bizarre original had the Colonel refusing to divulge his recipe (available to everyone under the code name 99X) the new take has Macdonald failing on one key question.
It's the second set of ads since Macdonald was handed the torch of Colonel from fellow SNL alum Darrell Hammond.
