Nissan 'From A Dream to Dubai' by TBWA\Chiat\Day LA

Automaker chronicles rookie car racer's journey to the starting line

Since 2008, Nissan and Sony have held an annual competition to turn automotive racing videogame Gran Turismo fans into real-life racers.

In 2014 the competition aired as a reality TV series on the Spike TV network and streaming service Hulu.

TBWA\Chiat\Day LA and Nissan produced a 30-minute documentary on the winner, 21-year-old Nic Hammann. Hammann bested the 100 million online applicants and 29 other applicants in the TV series.

The web film on Hulu shows his journey from snowy Wisconsin to a race track in Dubai for his first professional race.
