NFL makes a plea for unity in Super Bowl LI spot

Forrest Whitaker narrates a 60-second ad from Translation that acknowledges the political divide.

At a time when America is politically divided, the National Football League aims to remind us that we can all agree on our love for football during Super Bowl LI. Forest Whitaker narrates the 60-second spot from Translation, which centers on game footage where players of opposing teams literally lift each other up when they’re down. The first female NFL referee, Sarah Thomas, also makes an appearance, as does Pat Tillman, the Arizona Cardinals safety who died as an Army Ranger in Afghanistan. The film first aired Saturday, during the "NFL Honors" primetime awards special on FOX, and will re-air between the third and fourth quarters.
