New Honda commercial goes from square to hip

How better to show off the Civic Coupe's sporty curves than a spot that is (literally) boxy

A new spot from Honda and agency RPA shows off the 2016 Civic Coupe’s sporty curves in a literal square world. In the spot, we see cube-headed people trying to make do with their edges — a couple tries to kiss, and a man struggles to skateboard with square wheels. Then, out of a traffic-jam of boxy cars, drives a bright blue Civic Coupe to the astonishment of onlookers. An ordinary man parks the car and gives his keys to two shocked valets. The ad’s format emulates the city of blocks by starting as a square and expanding to full frame as the Civic Coupe comes into view. The 30-second ad will air on TV and online. For social media, Honda is starting to ask fans to share stunt track ideas using #CivicDreamTrack for a future video.
