Mitchells & Butler: to review its ad strategy

Mitchells & Butlers (M&B), the pub and restaurant-chain operator, is to review its ad agency roster and focus its marketing efforts on its restaurant brands.

Last month, M&B, which owns more than 2000 venues, sold 333 pubs to Stonegate Pub Company for £373m, as it withdraws from the late-night high-street bar market.

It now plans to invest in the informal eating-out sector by concentrating on its food-centric pub brands Harvester, Toby Carvery, Crown Carveries, Sizzling Pub Co, Premium Country Dining Group and Vintage Inns.

M&B plans to consolidate its agency roster. Advertising for its Flares Bars, O'Neill's and Reflex brands is currently handled by Elvis; Harvester is handled by St Luke's; and Sizzling Pub Co is handled by MCBD.
