The company has been threatening to ditch the brand for some time, with executives generally referring to "Lumia" rather than "Nokia" devices in interviews.
Now Nokia France has notified fans of its Facebook page that its name will change to Microsoft Lumia within the next few days.
The UK page has followed suit, saying: "In the next few days you’ll receive a message directly from Facebook about this page changing name. We're about to become Microsoft Lumia UK! Watch this space for more news soon."
According to The Verge, other countries will follow steps to rebrand on social media in the coming weeks.
It was earlier rumoured that Microsoft would make the transition during its Christmas campaigns in the US, dropping the Nokia brand entirely during ads.
The move does not mean Nokia will disappear altogether. Microsoft only purchased Nokia's devices and services business, leaving the rest of the Finnish company with its mapping, network and research divisions.
