The events will celebrate the role its five million ‘Windows Insiders’ played in the development of the software.
Events have been planned in 13 locations: Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, New Delhi, Dubai, Nairobi, Berlin, Johannesburg, Madrid, London, São Paulo and New York City. The celebrations will include hands-on activities, experiential demos, entertainment and opportunities to meet the Windows team.
Additionally, more than 110 Microsoft stores in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico will also host launch parties on the day. In select outlets, fan celebrations will feature Windows 10 pop-up demo experiences, prizes, workshops and giveaways.
The brand has also pledged that ‘tens of thousands’ of its employees will take a day off, many of them on 29 July, to volunteer to upgrade their local community.
The live initiative forms part of Windows’ year-long Upgrade Your World, which aims to help people achieve more through technology and celebrate Windows 10.
