A memorial service is being held next month for Kevin Hand, the former chairman of the Professional Publisher's Association and chairman of Hachette.

Hand died in April after a short illness and was a leading figure in UK magazine media, having run both Emap and Hachette Filipacchi UK.

He also served as vice president of the European Magazine Media Association and as a board member of the Independent Press Standards Organisation.

A service of thanksgiving and celebration of Hand’s life will take place at 11.30am on 14 September at St Bride’s Church in London’s Fleet Street. This will be followed by drinks at the nearby Stationers Hall in Ave Maria Lane.

Barry McIlheney, the PPA chief executive, said all those who knew Hand are welcome and should email to confirm their attendance.
